Hiring “Green”
April 24, 2009 | Author: Aswan Morgan | Filed under: Career Change, Job Hunting
It seems as though many companies are moving toward environmentally-conscious positioning. A recent CareerBuilder study revealed that ten percent of companies surveyed had created a “green job” in the past 12 months. A whopping 70% had launched “green” initiatives including recycling programs and decreased resource and energy consumption.
With billions of dollars of green energy commitments in the President’s economic stimulus plan, expect an increase in environmentally-conscious jobs and new career opportunities. Here are a few green positions and their median salaries.
- Hydrologist - $64,604
- Fund-raising Director - $79,762
- Economist - $82,628
- Environmental Attorney (construction, real estate and land use) - $90,146
