Recent labor statistics revealed the daunting ratio of nearly 6 unemployed Americans for every job opening. Clearly, getting hired and moving up in today’s economy is challenging and if you’re on the hunt, what used to work isn’t quite cutting it anymore.
Consider the rapid changes rippling through the online job search space, shaking down some of the industry’s biggest monsters. Companies are spending less and less posting opportunities on big job boards in favor of social recruiting and more direct routes to qualified talent. “If the job boards don’t innovate more often and more quickly, they are going to have a very difficult time growing their businesses over the next several years,” remarks William Morrison, an analyst at investment bank ThinkEquity Partners.
So what’s needed in finding the right job-match–the opportunity that you have a high-probability of landing? Well, UpMo’s stance is that you need a precise science–one that’s evolving and looks across multiple dimensions of your career.
